After suffering three straight home
defeats at Anfield, Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has explained that the
club could sack him if his wards should suffer another defeat
against
Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Liverpool
will face their much heralded opponents Chelsea on Tuesday night
(January 31, 2017) in a Premier League duel that is expected to be
explosive.
The Reds have been bundled out of the EFL Cup and
also the FA Cup, and the embattled manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted
that he is on the verge of being thrown out of the club if his side flop
against Antonio Conte's men.
“I know what
will happen if we end up losing a fourth game in a row and I'm I allowed
to go for the best position in the Premier League?
“Or should we just put our heads down
and say, ‘OK, sorry, we failed again. Let’s get through the season and
next year try again with different players and, if someone asks for it, a
new manager’?
“I can’t decide this, but I think we should try everything to make the best of the base that we have created so far.
“A lot of people are saying this could be a difficult moment for Liverpool, and it is difficult, no doubt,'' Klopp explained.
Meanwhile
Liverpool will welcome back their star striker Sadio Mane who has
returned to the squad since his country Senegal crashed out of the 2017
African Cup of Nations in Gabon.
