Mayweather believes McGregor is the only man who can tempt him out of retirement

Floyd Mayweather has mooted a potential fight with Irish MMA champ Conor McGregor.

The Moneyman last fought in September 2015 but appeared to dispel the notion of retirement by suggesting a
mega-fight with the UFC lightweight champions.
39-year-old Mayweather said: “They know what my number is. My Number was a guaranteed $100 million. That was my number.”

Mayweather dismissed the chances of a rematch with Manny Pacquiao saying: “The only thing I’m probably interested in, is the Conor McGregor fight. I’m a businessman, and it makes more business sense.”

McGregor, the UFC lightweight champion, is taking a break from mixed martial arts ahead of becoming a father for the first time in May, but has previously demanded a $100m purse to face Mayweather.

Mayweather, undefeated in his 49 fight boxing career and winner of world titles in five divisions, told ESPN’s First Take: “We’re the A-side and I don’t know how much money he has made? I’m pretty sure he hasn’t even made $10m from an MMA bout.

“We can talk about splitting the PPV (Pay Per View) but we are the A-side. How can a guy talk about $20m or $30m if he’s not made eight or nine?
