Manchester United broke the transfer world record for Paul Pogba and could reportedly break it again for a FC Barcelona superstar after the season. To make it happen Jose Mourinho has allegedly been calling his target.
United paid €105 million (R1.44bn) to bring the Frenchman back to the Old Trafford and Mourinho seems prepared to splash the cash again after the season.
According to Sport, the English giants are keen to attempt another bid to lure Neymar away from the Camp Nou after the Red Devils allegedly already tried to sign the Brazilian ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
The 25-year-old only recently signed a new contract, which includes a €180 million (R2.5bn) buyout clause that will reportedly rise to €200 million (R2.8bn) by the end of the season.
However, United are prepared to open the cheque book for Neymar and Mourinho himself wants to convince his target of the deal.
The report claims the Portuguese has been personally calling Neymar over the last few weeks to persuade him of a potential transfer.
Neymar has scored 10 goals and assisted another 19 in 31 appearances this season, and reached 95 strikes overall since joining the Blaugrana.
